Looking for something my site doesn’t have yet? Here you will find some of my reccomended resources and readings about finance, blogging, and money. Of course, you can always double-check our blog first!

Essential Readings

  • The ASIC’s Money Smart website is a one-stop-shop for all financial advice. It is Australian, up-to-date, and authored by a trustworthy government source.
  • Scott Pape’s The Barefoot Investor has a cult following for a reason. While the advice can be a little broad and at times make wide assumptions about readers, it is a worthwhile read if you want to ease some light, enjoyable reading.

Hot tip: don’t buy this book, borrow it; it is literally everywhere. Your library has it. Your grandma has it. Your weird neighbour Barbra probably has it, too. Just borrow it.
  • Ken Honda’s Happy Money delves into the taboo topic of money and happiness. It delves into the science behind happiness, and encourages readers to invest in others, buy experiences.

My Favourite Blogs

It can be hard to find a good blog nowadays. The internet is saturated with cheap listicle blogs yuck. Fear not, I’ve found some of the best ones for you:

  • This Online World. I have been a long-time reader of this blog. It publishes high-quality content about side hustles, saving, and technology. A must-read if you enjoy hefty reads.
  • Aus Finance and Poverty Finance are two supportive reddit communities where you can get advice, support, or easily spend hours binge-reading.
  • The Minimalists have changed my life. I picked up their book at an op-shop when I was sixteen, and have followed them closely since. Their blog is so much more than minimalism; they have wonderful articles about finance and money like ‘Debt Free‘ or ‘A Miniamlists’ Thoughts on Money‘.
  • Year 13 have stacks of content for Aussie students. They post life, study, and the occasional financial advice in a humorous and conversational tone. Be careful, though – they have a Westpac fetish. yuck.
  • Pro Blogger have covered every. single. topic. you can think of when it comes to blogging. If you want to start your own blog, start there.
